Sunday 21st July - walk *** – Around Felixstowe including a picnic at The Grove – mainly cloudy but warm.

A mainly cloudy day but still pretty warm, no plans so exercises in the garden with Mag pottering as usual, I then pack a picnic and we drive over to The Grove. We walk through the lovely Abbey Grove to our seat in the small green area to enjoy the peace and quiet, we made the right choice to head inland as the seafront was heaving:( After a quiet spell the dog walkers started to appear and we had a nice catch up chat with someone we know from our childminding days! It was a little airless to remain seated here for too long so we set off through the woods coming out on Gulpher Road before taking the footpath over farmland doing a big square and had some fun with the round bales in the field. Then back to Ferry Lane across more fields spotting a deer before walking across the football pitches, we were now getting our 6 mile legs now 3 mile legs as old age catches us up! Still a nice 3 mile walk around Felixstowe before heading for home via the seafront to see the sea where a cuppa and scone go down well! Tomorrow is still looking promising for a windsurf!
